she wasnt sure how much she had to drink. she kept switching between bottles, but an estimate could be made by the weight of those she couldnt see through. her shoulder stung, of course - it was as if jacin had mauled her in his blind rage. jacin, rage? that didnt sound right to her.
she knew. she had to lie, of course, but she knew exactly why it had happened. and as long as she shared this room with shiraz, it was bound to happen again.
she had to make a choice, and fast, but this liquor made everything so pleasantly slow. she pondered for a moment the idea of letting herself die.
her fingers grazed her neck absentmindedly, getting caught in the wires that mars dreamt of cutting so much. her artery rippled in the shape of her heartbeat. she could hear his footsteps, sickeningly echoing through her bones like a bad cold. she wanted it to be over already, but there was no-one to save her. no-one knew her, after all. she was as new as they come in this neighbourhood that she was doomed to call home - she had no other. she flicked her tongue across her teeth as the door flung open.

"i have nothing for you, acheron." she spoke, raising the glass to her lips. she could hear his sneer before even turning to look at him.
"you think you're so much better than everyone, don't you?" before she could react, she felt his hand make a fist in her hair while the other pushed her glass away and instead shoved the neck of the bottle down her throat. her eyes widened as she coughed against the burning liquid. it tasted like coffee flavoured candy with the sting of cheap sugar.
