bedroom

My room has changed a lot since I moved from the north to Beirut in 2011-2012.
It started out blank with a yellow wall - there was a giant sticker of a tulip on that wall. I later added a Tinker Bell sticker and another fairy sticker next to the tulip.
Piles and piles of books that couldn't fit in my bookshelves anymore. But my mother hated those and thus they got confined to boxes.
Then the drawings came. A little triangle with an eye, then a drawing of the members of Wolfsden, minus a few.
The drawings eventually covered my room, ceiling to floor. People would freak out upon entering it (they quickly got used to it though). Some secretly took pictures.
Later, I painted over the drawings. A meteorite. A wing. A marble bust. And then I wrote over the paintings.
Friends wrote too. People who hurt me, as well. Mainly on my desk wall, but some broke the rules, going as far as writing and drawing next to my bed, where I'd see it before falling asleep.
Then, not too long ago, I covered it all in linen-like wallpaper.
Some of it remains (on my furniture, mainly). You can see some of the writing through the wallpaper (despite all of the priming that was done) and on the floor.
It will keep evolving, of course. But I don't think I'll be writing on the walls anytime soon.
